Audio > trackers, synth programs etc..

#112609 - fueriose - Mon Dec 18, 2006 6:06 pm

I'm getting into some gameboy development and I'm looking for the best
audio programs for the gameboy, gameboy color and GBA..

I'd like to find mainly stuff that runs on the gb, gbc and gba.. Not on pc.
I'd like to compose the tunes on the devices themselves..
I'm wondering if there is a list of audio trackers and chip trackers etc?
nanoloop and lsdj I've seen, anything else worth trying?

Do you have a DS? If so, you might like a .xm editor called NitroTracker.

I've been mostly lurking on these boards, and I've written a Gameboy (classic/color) music guide that might be of interest:

Edit: Btw, if someone is wondering, I've got no relation whatsoever to nitrotracker. That tracker is named so because the codename of the DS was Nitro, and I got this nick already in 2001.

Hello again. My blog was recently hacked, and when I restored it I decided to change the URL's from post number based to a fancy URL scheme.
Having that said, I've made redirects to some of the more popular old URL's, so the above link should still work. If it doesn't, try this new link:

Isn't there a way to use mod_rewrite to make sure that cool URIs don't change?

In this case no. When the blog was hacked, all pages were deleted. In Wordpress, pages and posts share the same id numbering, but they are summoned with id=xx vs page_id=xx. After the blog was hacked, I decided not to keep the same database instance, but instead I exported the whole blog (What was left of it) and re-imported it to a fresh instance, to prevent possible DB corruption. In doing so all post numbers got shifted down by one where ever a missing post used to be. I could've imported the just over 100 posts manually, and inserted the pages at their old indeces, or edited the exported XML file, but I decided that there was a limit to the amount of effort I would put into the reconstruction.
Instead I just imported the XML file and then added the page from Google's cache. This way the pages got a series of high ID's. (Which nobody will ever see anyway)

Please note however that I did make a dirty hack to redirect the page from their old page_id's to their new fancy URL, so old URL's like http://gameboygenius.8bitcollective.com/wordpress/?page_id=55 or http://gameboygenius.8bitcollective.com/wordpress/?page_id=33 should not break, and they actually do work fine for me. (In Opera, FF and IE) I have no clue what went wrong for stumm. Perhaps he happened to click the link in the middle of my reconstruction work or something.

Long story short: The old URL should still work, stumm must've seen a glitch.
