Audio > NeIMOD NMOD v1b mod player source code

#6526 - wizardgsz - Wed May 28, 2003 12:54 pm

Hi guys,
I'm searching for NeIMOD NMOD v1b mod player source code, previously released (temporarly removed???) on GBADEV.org (http://gbadev.org/arc_dec2002.shtml reports a broken link to nmodv1b.zip).

Was the source code removed by the author, is a temporarly fault by GBADEV?

Thanks.

I believe that was the file I once mailed SimonB about. He replied...

The script is not blocking it. We are just not allowed to host it on gbadev.org

Someone posted a while back that since nmod has been added to the Catapult thingy, the code is no longer available for all and sundry. A shame as it was quite good.

krawall is another alternative, free to use for "non commercial" stuff providing you give credit to the author. Not quite as fast as nmod, but sounds a bit richer and does sound fx.

I'm going to post a new topic, I'd like to invite you to my next message, thanks!

AFAIK NMOD only plays .MOD, while Krawall also supports XM and S3M. No doubt playing a 4ch modfile is much faster than an 8ch xm-file :)

Ah, I did wonder about the advantage of xms. The free for non-commercial use Krawall SDK doesn't play them though.
