Beginners > Archiving the most frequently asked topics?

Does anyone think that a zip file holding some of the best discussions within this forum would be a good idea?

Topics such as 'random numbers' and 'where to find x y and z' could be downloadable as one file for newbies to read.

Not really because you can find that information here in the beginners section and at

http://www.gbadev.org/tools.php

and there's also the FAQ that is kept up-to-date by Tepples.

I can see how it would be useful but it would be a greater load on bandwidth and would have to be updated as urls change, new topics develop, etc.

Just my opinion though! What does anyone else think?

Nah, I think Tepples FAQ is enough, but maybe it's a good idea to put the FAQ in a word-document and put the file in the downloads-section so people can read it off-line if they want.

Distributing Word documents publicly is strongly deprecated.

If you want to download the FAQ to read it later, right-click this link and choose "Save Target As..."

I think that the FAQ should stay a "live" thing, where people can comment and update it easily. This way there is one place where you can always access the latest information.

And if you don't have internet access at all times, you can use Tepples' suggestion!
