VisualHAM is ready to use, right after installation. No need to fiddle with stuff. And it's almost totally automated.

Well for me gba programming is just a little sidestep when I have enough of directx for a while. I'm used to working with the Visual Studio ide so for me the obvious choice is VC++.

I use DevKit Advance and the ConTEXT editor because I don't like big IDEs.
