VisualHAM is an IDE for the HAM SDK. And you are using an outdated version of Visual HAM nonetheless. Go to www.console-dev.de/visualham.htm for the latest version(2.5).

I'm not entirely sure what sprite program you are talking about. Can you explain that part a little bit more?

how do u make the sprites with VisualHAM IDE.

You use paint programs to make sprites and then use a converter of some sort and then include it in your program. I personally use Jasc Paint Shop Pro 8 for sprite editing.

As an alternative to ham you may want to try a normal devkit. Ham is not a bad system and Visual Ham is actualy a decent IDE but you miss out on many of the details of how the GBA works and how to wrtie games in general by useing HAM. If you are interested in alternatives then take a look at the tutorial section of my site.

I am not trying to talk down Ham as it is a good library that will probably get you into makeing a game quicker than other options if you are brand new to programming. Just makeing you aware of the alternatives and that most GBA development is done useing things other then Ham and therefor more help in your endevors is likely to be found if you go the more normal route. Also in my honest opinion learning the GBA is simpler and far more satisfying then learning Ham.
