Hey all. I'm new in the gaming world, and I need someone to help me use C and C++ for starters. I have the C and C++ for Dummies, and I am using Bloodshed's Dev-C++ program. My AIM is d unit will rule. PLEASE HELP!!!

You have a book and an IDE.. isn't that enough for starters?

What yaustar means is, let us know when you've got a specific question. :)

For the record that was meant to be a response in a confused tone rather then a sarcastic one ;)

Start going through the book trying to understand everything that you do... Once you hit something you dont understand have a little look around and then ask someone (or here if this forum isn't restricted to GBA only :P)

Have you had any other programming experience?

Based on conversation over AIM, it appears that dakotagb has never programmed before in any language.

in that case.. dont go into C++ just yet..get the hang of C (since it is a smaller language) which will be more then enough to start programming games once you get your head around the basics..

What are actually aiming to do at the moment? Making/Designing Games or learning how to program games? It hasn't been too clear of your intentions in your other topics...
