At the moment I've practically finished my own BG library to use two bitmap bgs with parallax scroll and own partial bg scroll (scanlines,http://forum.gbadev.org/viewtopic.php?t=15493 ) and two tile maps (large horizontal tile maps) with a palette for each. Each tile of the map can be an animated tile.
The things to do are:
1.- large h-v tile maps
2.- Transparency or blending between bgs
3.- Rotating and scaling with antialiasing
4.- Postprocessing bg effects (waves, shakes, fading, brights)
5.- Tile map Wrapping on and off -> Continuous map like NSMB (MvsL) or normal map
What else you think could be interesting for a free bg library?[/url]
