Looks like these guys are going to release a DSi mode cart soon (supposedly).

"The iEVO will be the first flash cart in the market to enable this functionality [camera, SD access], starting with homebrew applications..."

I wonder if it utilizes WinterMute's work/idea?

Hybrid card games do not have DSi SD controller access, it's disabled. It's possible they use eeprom hax to load the flash card .nds from rom, nobody knows for certain how they do it yet though.
