Flash Equipment > Questions about the X-ROM 512Mb cart.

#43290 - earthbound - Sat May 21, 2005 5:14 pm

I am considering buying the X-ROM 512 cart, but I am new to all of this, and have some questions.
1) How many game saves are you able to store on it?
2) Is it compatible with Nintendo DS?
3) How long will the battery last? Will my game saves get lost when it dies? Is it rechargable?
4) Is it easy to set up? What is required to run gba roms, movie files, and NES roms?
5) Is this the best one to get get, or are there better ones that are worth the price?

No, not 2 milli bits. It's 2Mb (Mega bits).

Yes, it works.

Make backups often. Battery lasts up to 3-5 years (depends on your use, temperature, humidity, etc. Some batteries can last only 2 years.).
You need to replace the battery for a new one (they are available).
If you need, I have made a script that backups your saves from all slots and renames them as the current date (very useful) and also easy to restore.

Easy to set up (just install drivers + the software).
You need to SRAM patch the games and flash them. ;)

This is not the best one. But if you don't play Crash Bandicoot series and some other cool games, then this might be your choise.
The best one? Maybe Flash2Advance Ultra set.
