I've got an old serial flash linker, flash 2 advance if I'm not mistaken. Anyhow, my problem is that it doesn't work with my setup, but usb cables work just fine. Is it possible to rebuild it to USB?

You should be able to buy a USB->Serial adapter from any good computer store.

Seems I got my terms all wrong here, what I was looking for is a parallel->USB adapter. Thanks for the help though :P
Followup question, will my linker work just as an usb linker does? Or did I miss some important difference between parallel and usb linkers :(

Do parallel port converters even work with software that talks directly to the printer port to manipulate the IO lines? I'd imagine they'd work with printers which follow the standard protocol, but would they work with other parallel devices, like a MBV2 or PSX joystick converter?

no, if you look, it says parallel printer usb thingy. there are things out there that plug into your computer using usb, and output what the parallel port would do. it can be used for old backup units (snes, geny) or gba linkers and such. but it must say it's eep or ecp or whatever compatible, and cost over $100. these cheap (under $100) ones only convert printer signals, and cannot be used for homemade/homebrew parallel port use.

Acctually, I don't think they do, they just output to COM0 or whatever with a virtual COM port (as seen in .Net 2.0)
