DS development > Reading the entirty of RAM...

#101034 - DimondEdge - Fri Sep 01, 2006 9:08 pm

Hullo!

My big project for the long weekend is to get some RAM dumps from my DS... Ok, so I have NO idea where to start... How does one read from NDS RAM? Really, I just want to output it to the screen, but I'll figure that part
out myself...

EDIT::: Also, is there a way to tell a running app to run the game in the
NDS slot?

Thanks!

No, because the secure area is overwritten when homebrew starts and cannot be read again from the DS card.

Actually...it can be done.
1. Action Replay
2. DipStar
3. cReDiAr's cheating app

All do some stuff and then launch the game. I'm not sure what the restrictions on the others are, but I know at least for cReDiAr's app, you can boot his app using ANY method, and it is still able to launch the game from the DS card. I don't know if he has a website or not, but you can find him occasionally on #dsdev - irc.blitzed.org
