DS development > tiles, palettes, and objects

Since the DS is related to the GBA, I?m wondering some stuff.

I?m especially intending to use 2D elements since I?m not interested in 3D graphics.

So in comparison with the GBA:

How many palettes of colors can be used in a scene?

How many tiles can be loaded in the video memory?

How many objects can be used at once?

And which mode is the best suited for a project using only 2D in order to get the best results?
