With or without Vivendi's permission to use the WARCRAFT mark?

Just guess... like if you ask Nintendo each time you use the name "Mario" in a homebrew...

If this name cause troubles, I'll change it, but as it's only a free amateur homebrew I think it's ok.

It already has caused trouble. Freecraft had to become Stratagus.

Freecraft had problem because it used to allow people playing warcraft II on linux based on the original game data. Also, it was on PC so instead of buying WC copies people could just use freecraft, and that was the source of the problem...

without the art issues, this looks like a fun release...
I love Tower D!

Give me multiplayer and I'll be a happy boy ;)

Just checked out the beta from your site! Love the menus and the snow effect in the background :-) But that's as far I got!

As per the instructions I ran 'add maps' and it made the executables for me. I put the nds on my card (a gbamp - is that supported?) but when I went to the solo menu there were no maps and the game hung...

I also tried copying the maps directory onto my card but got the same result...

What am I not doing?

It's not compatible with GBAMP or slot1 devices since it uses an appended file system (PAFS). According to some comments on the site, you need Windows and .net framework to attach the map. I downloaded a version with the map already attached.

It works on M3CF. My towers blocked the first wave but the monsters made it through on the second wave. I tried to block them where they start but that is not allowed and it sold my tower.

That's a little bit of a misrepresentation. That capacity is still around, it's just not the primary focus anymore. The main problem was the infringement on the mark; Freecraft as a name with the ability to use the WC2 data files was a clear trampling of the Warcraft mark.

For supporting evidence, go to their website and check out 'Games'. Wargus is a "game" that allows use of original WC2 data. Clearly, if THAT was the problem, that project wouldn't still be there and still maintained by the Stratagus team.
