As we now have wonderful dldi interface from chishm... i wanted to have a thread where we can gather links/requests for old or unsupported anymore homebrew recompiled with DLDI support.
So it can be used with other drivers which last versions of such homebrew used.
Here, i've recompiled Nethack (the main reason i was waiting for rw in G6 :) )
http://theli.ho.com.ua/ds/NetHackDS.nds.7z
(you'll need data files from original nhds
And SnemulDS 0.2
edit: SNemulDS 0.3 now has DLDI support
PicodriveDS
0.1.7 already has DLDI support
TXTWriter (recompiled by Sektor)
http://gtamp.com/DS/txtwriter_0.3.2.zip (source and binaries)
http://users.bigpond.net.au/grandtheftauto/txtwriter_0.3.2.zip
fmsxDS 0.7 recompiled with devkitARM r19 with DLDI support
http://theli.ho.com.ua/ds/fmsxDS.nds_07_DLDI.7z
FrodoDS
http://theli.ho.com.ua/ds/FrodoDS.nds.DLDI.7z
Mini vMac DS with DLDI and romfs support(by Lazy1):
http://lazyone.drunkencoders.com/MinivMacDS-dldi-romfs.zip
as for NethackDS ... anyone have any experience with its code? Cause it works fine for me .. though it displays wrong tiles .. i mean grave tile instead of florr tile :( ... any help/advice?

yeah ... i've created this thread for requests for recompiling homebrew with available sources (in the wait for version which will support DLDI) with support for DLDI

Perhaps if he released the source, DLDI support could be added to it by someone else. That's apparently what happened with several/most of the programs already in this thread.

Added DLDI support. It only displays short filenames. Tested on M3CF, no problems. It has display issues on DS-X but saving and loading seemed to work.
Backup anything important before you start it, just in case of file corruption.

Thanks a bunch for this guys.
I was wondering if it's possible to add DLDI support on dslinux and nesDS wip1 / nesDS?
#115191 - Sektor - Sat Jan 13, 2007 4:50 pm
DSLinux needs a different type of driver to all other homebrew. I don't know where to get the nesDS source and it won't just be a simple recompile since lots of things have changed since then.
DLDI support can only easily be added to homebrew that uses libfat or gba_nds_fat and the source needs to be available.

i think dslinux is doubtfull cause they have different drivers ...
and as for NESds or SnesDS ... i haven't seen any download location of their source... so for them to have DLDI we just need to wait :(
btw i haven't posted ScummVM with DLDI support cause agentq is working on this so we can expect this in new version.
#115194 - Goldeneye - Sat Jan 13, 2007 5:01 pm
Ah that's a shame.. maybe emu_kidid wouldn't mind sharing the source of his wip1 work and you guys could take a look if whetever it's worthwhile to do it or not.
#115199 - Puyo - Sat Jan 13, 2007 5:50 pm
NesDS is compiled under different toolchain, so i doubt that inserting DLDI (or even gba_nds_fat) would be so easy.
#115200 - dantheman - Sat Jan 13, 2007 5:51 pm
I would talk to Gladius about the possibility of DLDI support for SNES DS, as I believe he is the only person other than loopy to have the source. I know that compiling requires a very expensive ARM compiler though, and the whole thing might not be possible anyway.
EDIT: didn't see Puyo's post. I'd assume that both NES DS and SNES DS are compiled the same way.

I thought the standard Supercard drivers also work for the rumble? (SCSD driver for SCSD Rumble etc) I would try those to see if they work.

I asked him here:

Someone would have to ask Loopy for it:

#115379 - dantheman - Mon Jan 15, 2007 6:48 pm
Unfortunately, Loopy is notoriously difficult to contact from what I've heard. It's worth a shot, but I wouldn't expect too much. That's also why I suggested asking Gladius to implement DLDI in SNES DS and not Loopy, although I'm not sure if the idea is even feasible in the first place.
In any case, I have a request: HyperHacker's program for adding a border before launching a GBA game. The built-in borders are cool, but I can't browse my SC miniSD for the custom border I made, which would be a nice touch.

Hmm, not sure. I patched it for my DSLink, created an rd directory, threw some .d64 images into it, booted up and it works. Maybe it is the M3/R4 dldi patch that is causing an issue?

Yep, works for everything I had thrown at it (DSOrganize, CrocoDS, fMSX, SNEmulDS..etc). I am using the dlms_moon.dldi that is included in the latest Moonshell. Works fine as far as I have tried with read/write functions in various homebrew.
Immediately after I boot, I see a grey screen that says something about "mode" and "stylus"....but I am not sure exactly what it says because it flashed off in a split second. The next screen is simply black, with the following:
Error Failed to initialize file system

I just tested it. I see the grey screen and system error I spoke of earlier, but both of these screens now flash by in a second, and I am left at a black screen that simply says:
FPS: 0
Progress I suppose, as I am no longer getting a file system error....but it simply does nothing after this FPS counter.

Yeah unfortuntely dirent.h isnt supported(http://forum.gbadev.org/viewtopic.php?t=12297), so I am going to have to write a nasty compatible wrapper for it, or stick with old fatlib where I have already written a dirent wrapper for it.
I have already moved to r20 and am currently going through and recompiling everything and updating/fixing things to work.
