DS development > Spider Solitaire DS 2.0.0

#116692 - JessTicular - Sun Jan 28, 2007 12:41 pm

Hello everyone :)

I just now got finished uploading v2.0.0 of my Spider Soltaire game.

Spider Solitaire DS

What?

Spider Solitaire DS is a Nintendo DS version of the One-player card game that has gained popularity since being included as a default game on the Windows Operating System.

The basic idea of the game is to get piles of cards from K to A of the same suit.
There are 104 cards with the possibility of playing with either 1 suit, 2 suits, or 4 suits.

Some may remember the original release mid-last year.
The major differences between that and this are;

* Cards are now highlighted when selected
* Added Cheating (Press A)
* Added Undo (Press B)
* Dragging cards now only 'jump piles' when dragged wholely over an adjacent pile. This improves the accuracy of dropping cards.

Cheers,
Jess.

PS I did have all this ready to go a long while back, but just plain forgot about it! Whoops.

Cheers!

Good to hear it works, and glad you like it.

Anyone else tried it yet? I'd be interested in feedback (I know there's not much to say about Spider Solitaire, but still...)

works fine on my ds lite. and thank you for releasing source code, it is very interesting for me as a beginner on nds development.

when directly started from flash carts/card adapters like supercard, m3 and so on, it works without problems
but when started used a software launcher like moonshell, glitchy graphics will appear on the cards

Diddl, thanks for the comments - Everything I do I release open-source ;)

jackman,
Unfortunatly, I don't have anything that will run Moonshell, so I can't test it.
The only issue I can see with it is that all graphics are compiled to raw, then converted to .h and included (not the best way, but the easiest).

Hmm.. It runs fine for me using a GBA MP and launching it from Moonshell, so it might be a hardware issue?

I've added a v2.0.1

Change Log
----------

2.0.1 - Compiled under DevkitARM r20 and libnds 20070127
- Fixed: When a large pile would extend very far off the bottom of
the screen, it would wrap around to the top
