Hello all,
I want to flash the DS Lite from my little Bro' , but everytime I start Flashme up I get a warning that he can not recocnize the current Firmware and that it may later be not restoreable.
I use the ComboFlashme Variant (Phat & DSlite Flashme)
but I have no Idea what to do, shall I flash or shall I not ?
Hope you can help me:
Pas

Yup, that's the same message I received when flashing my lite. Flash it, and then check to make sure you can set the backlight level. If you only have on and off, start looking for an updated version of FlashMe.. I know it's hard as there are more than one version and they are all called V7.. :/

Get the V7 that's larger than 400 kilobytes.
The "can't restore" displays appear because NoFlashMe does not contain the newest versions of DS firmware. But the only reason that people seem to want to restore the original firmware is in order to send the DS back to Nintendo in order to have it repaired under warranty. The "stealth" version of FlashMe is enough for that.

I can attest to stealth being enough for warranty. I sent mine back for repairs with stealth and had no issues.
The version I used for my Lite was ~525KB. Used it on a Phat, too.

Ok, so I shall use the Combo v7 Flashme I have ? Anyone can show me the Hole where I need to bridge on the DS Lite ? Or is there a Sticker like the Phat has ?

Last I heard there's no sticker. It's in the battery compartment, on the side somewhere.

There's no sticker. It's on the bottom left of the battery compartment.

I would look at a picture or video first so you know exactly which hole it is. If you insert it into the wrong hole and short the wrong contact, it could turn the DS off in the middle of the flashing process, which is never a good thing.
I believe Youtube has some DS Lite flashing tutorials.

You can check this one, but if your DS Lite is newer, I believe you need to use a resistor for the shorting tool instead of just a piece of metal. Anyone, please correct me if that is wrong?
Flashing DS Lite on ndshb.com with video. ooohh.. :)
