DS development > Screen rotating TALL/WIDE modes

Could anyone explain how those Games/Applications creates tall videomodes...i.e. rotating both screens around 270 degrees?

Did they just use extended rotation backgrounds?

Do you mean video when you hold the DS on it's side in book format?

That's not a special video mode...

I guess you just make all your graphics "tall" instead of "stretched", and display them rotated. A custom type library for text would probably be made to output text downwards and at a 270 degree angle instead of normal.

You can simply rotate backgrounds/sprites. But keep it mind that not all backgrounds are rotatable. Using 3D would be easy too.
