DS development > MD2 Exporter anyone?

#129643 - kalus - Thu May 24, 2007 5:11 pm

Ok, so after finishing the loader, I now have to convert the models I have in max to MD2! There is no animation, so only one frame, but I tried using milkshape and it complains about vertices not being attached to a bone and then doesnt export.

The closest one ive found so far is quick3d, which does the job, except it destroys UV coords! Has anyone got a converter, or even knows how to get either of the above two to work? Thanx!

Blender will import .3DS and can export .MD2. Blender's MD2 exporter sucks, so you may need to fix it after exporting. After exporting from Blender run the MD2 through "Quake 2 Modeler" and it will fix the model so that it works correctly.

You can get "Quake 2 Modeler" from http://zippy-egoboo.sourceforge.net/tools.htm
