DS development > DevkitARM in Eclipse

#130293 - TOAST - Sat Jun 02, 2007 12:20 am

Anyone knows how to integrate devkitARM with eclipse so i can compile (and preferably run) my games from it. Or some other IDE/SDK that works on linux that can integrate devkitarm.

Just set up a makefile-based project, so that when you hit The Compile Button in your IDE, then it simply calls 'make'.

There used to be an eclipse managed build plugin for nds - have a look on these forums. I don't know if it's been undated since then though... But either way, a regular managed or manually-make'd project should work fine. I used eclipse, and this is what I do.

The DS managed make plugin also used to use my debugger, so you could debug your DS programs on your PC ;-)

That's kind of what i wanted to know how to do then, a makefile-based project or whatever. Guides? Tutorials?

I just tried installing NDS plugin available at:
dev.snipah.com/nds/updater,

but it doesn't seem to work with Eclipse 3.5.1 and CDT 6.0... Unless I missed something or did something stupid. My devkitARM works fine - I compiled and ran a simple "Hello NDS" program without any problem.

Anybody had more luck on this matter?

Thanks.

It seems that the plugin only works with Eclipse 3.4 and CDT 5.0 . I'm using Eclipse 3.5.1 with PDT 2.1.2 pre-installed and added CDT 6.0 afterwards and it gives me an installation error:
