DS development > DSLB preAlpha 0.01! (DS LightBikes) now with screenshots!

#130739 - kalus - Thu Jun 07, 2007 9:50 am

Ok, the original plan was to have this finished for GBAX, but due to time issues, and me never having touched the 2D core before, it?s dragged on a bit longer than expected. The good news is its now coming along in leaps and bounds! Anyway description:

DSLB or DS Light Bikes

Basically a tribute to the light cycles in Tron, very similar to GLTron for PC.

Eventual features:

Wifi multiplayer
PSP version, multiplayer compatible with DS wifi ;)

(In fact already done tech test, except for wifi it?s almost fully working on PSP at the moment)

Stuff left to implement to make playable game:

AI (kind of a biggy)
Trail collisions
Score system

Let me know what you think!

EDIT: Don't forget to try the different camera view! (Select)

I'm glad there's a month left too... I have a lot of bug fixing and updating to do...

I hope your game does well!

this game need a 2 players game in 1 NDS, because it only uses the pad for 1 player, and the buttons are free. You can use the buttons (ABXY) for other player.

It maybe easy and useful because until there is AI the best way to play is with other player, and it's very funny!!

Just now i have got installed GLTron in my computer and I play with my family more times that other game with history.

I'm "excited" because finally I will can play this game in my DS!! thank you!!

its tempting, but i think id prefer to concentrate on getting the AI going, and I think the radar is kind of needed! Eventually I wanted to do dual screen 3D for a spectator type mode, watching one bike on each screen, but thats it. Oh, and somelse is doing a light cycle game, and theres already has that in ;)
