DS development > How to make an A5I3 or A3I5 texture?

I know there is the Nomad texture converter that can output this kind of texture, but it doesn't like my 32bit .png with its alpha channel (only 1 level of transparency is used, opaque or not)

Then I think my image may be in the wrong format prior to conversion, as I didn't limited it to 5bits for alpha and 3bit for RGB colors...

my question is then how to do this? is there some sort of image tools or converters that can scale down my texture format to A5I3?
