DS development > Good DS mod player with SFX

#162264 - gauauu - Thu Aug 28, 2008 10:16 pm

I've been searching through the forums, but it looks like most discussions about this were fairly old, so I'm bringing this up again to see if there's new opinions.

Is there a good mod player library that supports also playing sound effects that people are using on DS?

It's rumored that there will be one in a future libnds version.

Really? Very cool. Unfortunately, the combination of "rumored" and "future" means I better not sit around waiting ;-)

xmp is available in DSLinux, although due to the overhead of the Linux kernel it's performance isn't exactly blistering.

eKid has been working on the new version for the next release of libnds. It's (so I've been told) definitely going to be in there. It's also written in ASM and supposed to be very fast and lite. For now I use MikMod, personally.
