The suggestion is simply an internet radio client for streaming audio. I think you can do this on DSlinux, but as far as I know there is no standalone nds utility.
Some fellow students and I are already working on something for the DS as our senior project or this would probably be our project (It will be released to the community when done, of course).
Any thoughts? Seen something that has this functionality already?

DSOrganize can also be used to play streamed Radio from the Net.
Standalone? None seen so far.

You have to create a playlist with the stream url.

there is nds standlone for it but it always fail connecting to the internet or playing the music.

So there is a broken standalone example.... by chance, is the source posted anywhere and if so, could you provide a link?

A homebrew called Dissonance is supposed to do that already
