Since there are many different options for the Nintendo DS, it is a good idea to set up a standard for some of the terms.
Lets start with the basics.
The Nintendo DS uses 2 types of wireless communication. One is 802.11b and the other is a format developed by Nintendo. While the term for 802.11b is commonly known as "WiFi", we do not have a term for Nintendo's wireless communication.
So for the future, lets call:
802.11b = WiFi
Nintendo Wireless = WiNi (pronounced weenee)
Silly, yet rememberable and effective.
