Now, I'm sure that some people may have what is needed to start helping the wireless cracking. However, they may not know how to actually do anything. So, maybe someone could give a mini 'how-to'?

you mean like "how to write custom drivers for your favorite wireless network adapter"? I doubt it would be useful :p

No, no, no. I mean, people who have the correct hardware but not the software. Where it can be downloaded, and how you can help etc.

People have to write their own software. You can not download what does not exist.

Yeah, there are really no POTS solutions. The network scanners (netstumbler, kismet) are only a very small piece of what needs to be done.
