Nintendo DS: 67 MHz ARM9.

PlayStation 1: 33 MHz MIPS.

Not likely. You need a factor of 10 in CPU speeds plus a compatible video model to get accurate emulation unless you want to negotiate porting rights with the game's copyright owner.

Simply put, no.

No. Although there have been advances regarding the GP32's emulation of PS1 games, I seriously doubt that there will be cards big enough to store CD rips available to the general public.

Strip some of the stupid in game videos and size would not be a problem.

If the passthrough goes off a Supercard, I see no reason why a DS wouldn't be able to access a 1 GByte flash card.

Besides, ampz is right: Zoop for PlayStation is under 3 MBytes without its Red Book audio, and LOTS of PS1 games' track 1s come in under 64 MB

Ah yes, I have seen some PS1 rips that are around 16-20MB now that I think about it.

So, yeah, emulation is probably a possibility, but I'm unaware of the particulars (seeing as I've only seen the PS1 emulator on the GP32).
