#37682 - assassda - Tue Mar 15, 2005 1:27 am

this is the second time this has happened

i turn on my ds and it acts like ive never played it before and asks me to set my options but my settings are clearly there because the color and alarm clock settings are already set

WTF

Perhaps the settings are stored on battery-backed SRAM? Have you let your DS completely run out of battery power?

quite possibly

also recently the electricity in my room has been turned on/off frequently, i know the first time the setting were lost it wasnt charging but the second time it was

I have let my DS completely run out of power twice, and never have I had to reset my settings.

All of the DS settings are in fact battery backed, so a completely dead battery, or removing the battery completely would cause it to go back to the initial setup.

Even if there wasn't enough power to run the whole system, there would probably be enough left to keep data in the RAM.

Ya, I thought about that after, and realized there probably was still some juice left in it.
