DS development > Emulators for DS ??

#38163 - gumba - Wed Mar 23, 2005 9:54 am

I know that the DS development is just at the beginning but it would be very interesting for me to know when you think that the first emulators will be available(Snes emulation for example).By the way:Are there any Flash Cards planned?Of course you can use a GBA card with the passME chip but that's not as comfortable as a special card for the DS

Bah that's the way it's gonna be for a while.
At least till chinese pirates get something working. Anyhow, why waiting ? Natrium's work is worth its $20+S&H. Go get one immedialtely !

Yes but I looks not very nice when the Passme is in the DS slot.I wait till a real Flash Card is available
Is somebody working on a Snes9x Port??

Just a thought - totally unresearched as I don't have a DS myself...

Wouldn't a Metroid demo chip and a passthrough logic chip fit inside a standard DS cartridge size, on a suitable pcb?

You won't see ZSNES for Nintendo DS for the same reason you won't see ZSNES for Mac: ZSNES is written mostly in x86 assembly language. A Super NES emulator running inside an x86 emulator would be much slower than a recompiled Snes9x or (better yet) an emulator written from the ground up for the Nintendo DS, as PocketNES was for the GBA.

Probably, with some design. But you would have a lot of troubly removing the Metroid Demo chip, it's a dye.
