A site that has them all collected, or at least links to them all for easy finding what is currently available?
Thanks

pdroms.com should have most releases

pdroms are a bit behind in DS releases.
They seem to be scattered everywhere :)

I'm working on a site. Definately a work in progress at this point, so please give me feedback!
The DS Resource at www.mymateo.com
#41608 - cocole - Sat Apr 30, 2005 7:09 am
There is not any site right now available with all projects.
Why ? Because they are scattered all over the world.
DrunkenCoders.com
Aaron got a lot of demos too (same as mymateo it seems)
original source for Nibbles & tetris
last but not least, a french board with lots of cools projects, you definetly want to check "musk DS" out.
So far it's all I can remember (it's 8 PM on saturday morning and I still didnt get my cofee).

Give it time. I only just made my site a few hours ago. :)

I figured that out. Lots of 404. Anyhoo, it was a hint for everybody as I am sure only french speakig people have heard of french projects.
#41613 - mymateo - Sat Apr 30, 2005 8:18 am
Those 404's should be gone now. I hadn't actually done the Demos and Links page when I launched the site, but I've put some in now. But there's a lot of tech demos that don't work on hardware, and I haven't gotten to work on Dualis. I've heard of iDeaS, but I haven't tried it. Anyone know if it's any good?

To my knowledge, it's the best emulator so far.

Speaking of which, I hate to sound like an idiot, but which thread was it that had that simple NDS demo loader? where you held down the button to select your NDS app. I was searching for it but couldn't find it.
nevermind, seconds after this I found it. And I can't seem to delete this post. >_> I'm such an idiot tonight...I guess that means I should get some sleep then.

It happens to the best of us. Even to the semi-intelligent, like myself. Just laugh about it, that way you can say anyone else laughing was laughing with you.
Cheers. :)

http://www.playeradvance.org/index.php?showtopic=11543
#41701 - cocole - Sun May 01, 2005 9:27 am
Dude, I've already posted the link. Look at my message above.
#41703 - miqualke - Sun May 01, 2005 9:38 am
oups my mistake, sorry
#41809 - mymateo - Mon May 02, 2005 1:02 am
And now some of the ROMs listed there can be found at my site, including the BIN of DS Bonga. The link on that site was non-case-sensitive, so it didn't link to the file. But I figured it out. :)
And for those who have made their own demos, you can submit them to submit@mymateo.com and have them posted onto my site also. Keep 'em coming!
#41817 - dimensionx - Mon May 02, 2005 4:04 am
Oh man i hadn't seen the french development site with other demos listed anywhere.
The demos kickass all of them.
because pdroms not updated i guess, and well demos and some other stuff spread out around net on the surface
feel like just made discovery (-;
#41821 - Lynx - Mon May 02, 2005 4:51 am
Here's the response I received in e-mail from pdroms.com about a request to update a tech demo listed on the site:
---------- Begin quote from e-mail --------
Hi Lynx
If i don't forget it, I will change the current file and add the source
to it, but no promise ;) I am lazy recently... Haven't updated PDR with
new files since 2 months, probably longer...
Regards
Kojote

So, this sounds like a perfect time for someone to take the helm to create a site that tracks NDS demos. Of course, it's going to be a lot of work and time tracking down all the current demos, as well as keeping up with the new ones, but if it's nice enough, and people like it, maybe the devers would submit their demos to it.. Dunno..

If your site had automatic submission and update features, that would be handy. That coupled with an RSS feed would make your site the perfect, up-to-date resource.
That's work for someone, though, but if you were serious about it then these features would make life easier in the end for you. Just an idea, I know that it would probably require more work than people want to put in. I'd build it myself if I had more time outside of school. If your site is doing well around June 15th then maybe I'd be up for it.
I started writing my own site from a "guide" point of view, and quickly found that it's a lot of work trying to tie together all the pre-existing resources. I ended up writing a brief guide with plenty of pointers to sites already up. It was impossible to keep up with the ever-changing methods and advances in this scene. Keeping a site's resources up to date is a lot of work and if people really turn to you, you'll be bombed with things to post/update soon.
Btw, currently Aaron Rogers has the best "resource" with his NDS Dev Env package.

FourScience
If you were talking about my site, then I will respond thusly:
I would love to put in automatic submission, but 2 main problems with that. (1) No immediate control over the content (porn, foul language, commercial ROMs not necessarily for DS, etc) and (2) I don't know how.
An RSS feed would be nice, but only 2 main problems. (1) I don't stay up-to-date enough to be a site people would go to for the latest breaking news and (2) I don't know how.
I still don't think I'd like an automatic submission because of the reason listed above, but if someone would like to help me out then a system whereby I can enter in a game and it would automatically be sorted by date, name, author, or by rom type (PassMe, BIN, source, etc) that would be very cool. I don't have a whole lot of free time, but that's something I will be looking into eventually anyways.
As for an RSS feed, I hve no particular desire to learn how to create one OR update it on a daily basis (every 2 or 3 days yes, but if I have to track down information constantly then it becomes a real chore). But if someone wanted me to host it, I could probably arrange that (except if it's going to cost me extra money -- then it depends on the cost as well).
Anyways, there you have it. I hope to make this site into something useful, and suggestions like these (even if they were directed to someone else) are helpful.

Loving some of the new demos, DSBongo, Duckhunt etc.
Just like to say good work guys and please keep them coming.

If you learn a little bit of PHP you could knock something up quite easily. You can put filters in place so the only things that can be uploaded are .ds files or whatever they're supposed to be. And if you recruit a couple of moderators then you wouldn't need to worry about dodgy content.
#41893 - dovoto - Mon May 02, 2005 9:49 pm
My goal is to include scene demos on my site at some point...right now i dont have the time to search out these demos. I will gladly post any demos sent to demos@drunkencoders.com as well as gladly employ any interested party as an updater for said demos, and scene news.

Thanks! Any submissions would be great.
I just got my first one, too! Thanks go out to David Rorex for being the first to submit a ROM, even if it was just a link to a site to download someone else's ROM. That's good enough for me!
#41926 - miqualke - Tue May 03, 2005 8:32 am
Thx for people who like DSBonga. But it's not finnished. Still a lot of work to do :)
#41938 - Lynx - Tue May 03, 2005 3:21 pm
Well, since nobody jumped on the idea, I guess I'll give it a go.
I just registered ndshb.com (NDS HomeBrew). Site will become available in up to 72 hours, and hopefully I'll have something setup by then. Hopefully it won't suck.
