How can we remove the loader.bin in front of a .pme or .nds.gba file so that it becomes an .nds and can be loaded by darkain's cool app? Sometimes it works to remove via hex editor if the developer used a common loader. Can someone smart explain how to figure out otherwise?

Make a little application for us that finds the beginning of the Nintendo Logo data, subtracts 4, and copies the rest of the file to a new one. That should remove it...
:-D

problem is, not all the files are .nds files + loader. some are raw ARM7+ARM9 binaries inside of a custom loader (the way the template use to do it)... this makes me sad... :(
however, we are currently sitting at 70 total NDS files at my last count. all but 4 or 5 are currently working w/ the loader (some might just be bad .nds files tho, havnt tested for this)
i'd really love to give out the "motherload" build, but i'm not aloud to distribute some of the demos im including w/ it yet.. :(

I'd love to recieve the motherload build, myself. :) What if you just took out those demos and rebuilt it?
Also, what does the total file size come to with all the demos included?

I want at least 1/3 of the difficult songs to be as hard as Max 300 or somewhere near it.

Ok, this will convert .nds.gba files into .nds
It is VERY limited, will only work on things that were .nds files in the first place, created by ndstool. Won't work on any commercial stuff. Won't work on things that weren't made from .nds.

Say what? Did this comment leak from some discussion of DDR Mario Mix on some DDR site?

I didn't think this was worth starting a new topic for, so I'll post it here. How big do you think your motherload will be, darkain? I've got a 256Mb cart, and I'm about half full with all the e3 demos on there. It won't be bigger than that, will it?
/me cries at the thought of buying a new cart

motherlode doesnt fit onto a 256m cart, no.

but i'm sure you wont need all of the demos, some don't do much or aren't much fun after seeing them once. I'm sure you can fit the playable demos into 256mb

Well, is this going to be one big package or will you release the shell and all the demos seperately, so you can include the ones you want?
#43889 - josath - Fri May 27, 2005 6:17 pm
darkain will only release the shell/loader, all the demos can be found elsewhere, by the ppl who actually made them.
One place to look is http://ndshb.com/
And my site http://ds.rorexrobots.com/

Sorry it went down, I reuploaded pme2nds as I've seen a couple people asking for it in other threads. (my new website url is http://davr.drunkencoders.com/ but the old url should redirect you.)

Updated pme2nds...should be a bit more compatible. Same location as before.
(Basically, it looks for a game maker code of '####' as well, as i've been seeing that in several .nds files recently. also, it aborts if it can't find the .nds in the first 16KB. a loader should never reach that limit, and it stops a couple false positives)
