DS development > .NDS wifi icon help: how to make black

#43329 - maniacdevnull - Sun May 22, 2005 4:50 am

Whenever I try to make an .nds icon (for the wifi screen) with any black, the black pixels becomes transparent. I've seen wifi icons with black. What do I have to do in ndstool / my paint program to make my icons with black pixels?

Your image editor is probably making the darkest color into color 0 (transparency). Try using dark blue (#000008) for the parts that you want to be black before converting from rgb to indexed mode.

if you are using photoshop to reduce the colours in your images, enable the "transparent" option if you have transparent bits or not. this will reserve palette entry 0 for transparancy, which is what the DS uses.
