DS development > GBC Emulator?

#44247 - nix - Tue May 31, 2005 8:03 am

Seems a lot of people are interested in SNES (and, to a lesser extent, Genesis) emulation on the DS. Am I the only one who looks forward to possible GBC emulation? Seeing how there is no way to play GBC games on the DS, I'd like to see an emulator for that on the DS.

Edit:
Sorry, I meant to ask, is there anyone out there even contemplating a GBC emulator?

Can you not play GBC games with an emulator for the GBA?

I think only DMG, not GBC games are supported, by the emu 'Goomba' i believe its called

Yes, there is goomba, and I havent looked at any releases for it lately, but if I remember, it plays OLD GB games, but not GBC-only games.

I'd still much rather see full support for SNES and a high level of support for genesis than GBC. Besides, most GBC games are just crappy ports from their NES counterparts.

I'm sure goomba plays GBC games... I remember being mentally scarred from how awful the Animorphs game was. (Don't ask ._.)

i think the GBC emu would be AWESOME...
it is highly anticipated

Goomba plays GB/GBC games such as Tetris DX, Zelda DX, Pokemon Gold, and Pokemon Silver, but it doesn't play GBC-only games such as Pokemon Crystal, DDR GB, Zelda Oracle of Seasons, and Zelda Oracle of Ages.

Actually, specifically, I did want to be able to play Zelda OoT and OoS. I have the carts here, but I'd rather not have to take my SP and DS everywhere. Besides, GBC carts look ugly hanging out of GBAs. Emulation is cool anyway ;)

Yeah, fast and inefficient...that is the reason for the overhaul
(Its been really dead at work)

Right now my new CPU portion is about 80% done...and that is after 1 week. So don't expect anything else to be up anytime soon (at least another 3-4 weeks)

#47353 - detroit - Thu Jul 07, 2005 11:01 pm

so? still no emulator right?

if it's not illegal and one doesn't exist, I will offer a 20$ bounty for one
that's OSS, good, native, and plays sound. except i'll have to wait
until they fix my screen
