DS development > Wireless Multiboot RSA Signature Tool - Version 1.1 released

#47609 - zubiac - Mon Jul 11, 2005 10:13 am

Get it here

Quote:
This is an application that can generate and verify the rsa signature of .nds files. It is not possible to officialy sign .nds files because the private key is only known by Nintendo. It is possible to test the sign/verify process with the "homebrew" key, which was generated by the author for testing purposes.

so it seems that you can sign homebrew files now (but not with the nintendo signature,so you won't be able to boot homebrew code without passme or flashme).

What's the point in it?

would be nice if you could use the real signature.. I can think of alot of people who would be willing to buy nothing but a wifi card to run homebrew with (even though there is the 4MB limit)

Theororetically, wouldn't you be able to constantly stream information to the DS thus having more then 4 MBs, but only have 4 on the DS at one time?

It's surely a silly question, but what is the utility to sign an application with a non-official key since it is not recognized?

Crack the Wi-Fi and you'll be able to do so. You can start by disassembling the Super Mario 64 DS stub, which comes with WiFiMe.
