DS development > Sound in nds

#51920 - Lord_Rafa - Wed Aug 24, 2005 6:00 pm

Hello I have 3 questions about how can put sounds in NDS
The first one: that frequencies and how many channels are supported by DS MOD player v1.0?
The second are: if the midis can be converted to mods?
The third are: if I can use wavs, mp3 or midis directly?

Thank you to help me.

1.) IDK
2.) Manually
3.) Moonshell+GBAMP.

There are programs that convert MIDI to MOD but most of them suck.. or are completely inaccurate without bumping up the speed of the mod, which, of course means more patterns, and higher file sizes.

It's best to find some mod tracker (like me for instance) that can do it manually.

If you want to try your hand at transcribing into .mod or a similar format, go download Modplug Tracker. (Google is your friend.)

MP3? I don't know of any Free decoders optimized for ARM9, but you could convert the MP3 files to GSM and then port GSM Player to the Nintendo DS.

Entire content: "Err, nothing here yet."

Not to mention some things on that wiki are speculative or just flat out wrong. There are better places to look for DS hardware specs, such as:
http://neimod.com/dstek/
Although I don't see what that has to do with opensource/arm-linkable audio libraries.
