Has anyone been able to obtain a video ouput from NDS?

I've done a bit with converting it to VGA but stopped working on it for a bit.
It did work a bit.
The idea was to fit two images side to side.
Perhaps I should try SCART/RGB output first since that'd require just a DAC and small CPLD.

The IS-NITRO-CAPTURE device available to licensed developers and major members of the video gaming press can capture DS video. You could try adapting GBA capture circuitry to work with the larger screen and 33% faster pixel clock rate of the DS.

Please keep it up!

Well, since the DS updates its screens at NTSC rates, old tv's can (somehow) pickup the screen signal!

But it'd still be a good idea to make a pair of clean S-video signals come out of the thing.

I wouldn't be surprised if some sort of capture device could be made from this, if it's possible to get colour.
BTW, try it with a GBA game. You only have one image that way.

The IS-NITRO-EMULATOR can too:

Yes, I took that photo myself. Nintendo was using it to demo Mario Kart DS, and they had it connected to two plasma displays *drool*. If only I had the courage to grab it and run :p

No, it can't - video output is an option, not standard feature of IS-NITRO-EMULATOR

this would be awesome!
what part isn't working? you said you had it working for a bit?
i'm sure you could sell these and make a ton of cash

Yeah, I would buy one right away.
...if it would allow me to capture screenshots (and maybe video?) of both screens while playing would still be possible (...with touch screen!). Is that even possible?

If he's doing RGB you could capture stuff with a TV tuner card

Did anyone else see the latest issue of Nintendo Power? All their DS screenshots look absolutely horrible. O_o

Well, that'swhat happens when you blow up 256-by-192 pictures of cell-shaded games. :p

What about Gaim DS? Gaim pretty much has support for all IM programs. |

Most of them aren't cel-shaded, though, and even ones that aren't resized or are scaled down still look bad.
