DS development > devkitPro problem

#88332 - Turambar - Sun Jun 18, 2006 9:18 pm

Hi, when trying to compile things for the ds (ie ScummVM DS), I get a lot of errors like this one:
0 [main] sh 9844 open_stackdumpfile: Dumping stack trace to sh.exe.stackdump

Anyone knows what that is?

What operating system version, and what version of devkitARM?

Windows XP SP2, and the devkitARM I think it's 18, but I don't know where to check it (it says Version=18 in installed.ini).

How are you compiling things? What version of make are you using?

I complile things with the Programmers Notepad, going to Tools->Make. I think that just runs the Makefile.
I use the Make that came with devkitPro, v3.79.1

This topic was started a while ago. I encountered the same problem on my notebook. It turned out, that the LogitechWebCam driver causes the problem. See:

After removing the service / reg-keys everything works like it should...

How poorly designed must a webcam driver be to prevent a completely unrelated program from functioning?

you'd be surprised how much problems those logitech webcam drivers has caused...

Having a Logitech webcam myself I can confirm this. The included software is terrible - bloated, slow, highly unstable (and likes to take out the OS with it), etc. Fortunately the camera is fully functional without it. People, if you must buy one of these, just toss the CD out and plug the camera in directly.
