can i use the d-link router instead of the d-link networkcard ? cause i dont have the card my brother have it in hes computer. can i use the router to send files to my ds??

I also wish this could happen. Actually, i think that it probably could, because the people of the XBC xbox tunneling program got the router to fake as a bunch of xboxs.....could people make the router fake as a nintendo DS? i think it's possible.

If you install FWNITRO, you lose PictoChat and DS Download Play but gain the ability to do download play from HTTP server software such as Apache.

The problem is that routers don't allow you to communicate with a low enough protocol (raw frames). Also, timing is very important. The XBoxes probably use TCP/IP, which makes router usage doable.

Since I saw "LOAD NITRO FROM HTTP" in this screenshot, unless I'm severely misinterpreting the picture.

I believe you are mistaken. That was a concept screenshot from version 1.1 which was released before the wifi lib was created/useable.
