DS Flash Equipment > gba movie player with passme problems

#94087 - smashing_tompkins - Sat Jul 22, 2006 11:25 pm

I have a nintendo ds that i bought around april of 2006, but when i took out my ds cart in pictochat the screen was a blueish color, so i assumed that it was version 2 (compatiable with passme). I bought passme and cf gba movie player. I loaded on the firmware on the gba movie player but the passme doesn't seem to boot .nds files. I am using supermario 64 for my ds cart in the passme. can someone tell me what i am doing wrong?

Periwinkle -> v2, compatible with generation 1 passthrough.
Dark blue -> v6, not compatible with generation 1 passthrough.

A DS bought in April 2006 is more likely to be dark blue than periwinkle. Solution: NoPass.

when i tried using the max media launcher with my gba movie player i only got a white screen. So i tried reinstalling the replacement firmware on my gba movie player, and now my movie player won't boot, i just get a black screen. Any solutions?

Assuming you're talking about Chishm's NDSMP, which version did you install?

Won't boot in GBA mode, or won't boot in Nintendo DS mode? In GBA mode, one of the screens is supposed to be black.

i installed version 2.0 and BOTH screens are black. But when i boot without my compact flash on the gba movie player i get a message that says "warning! can not find. please shut down or insert a compact flash card. Or press START to continue anyway." I know that screen is supposed come up when you don't have a CF in but if i press START it stays in a frozen state.

What do you have as _boot_mp.nds? Have you tried AXE?

i had scummvm on it but after i tried reinstalling the replacement firmware and my gba movie player wasn't working so i deleted every thing off my CF. so i have nothing on it now.

basically i am saying would the GBAMP work together with Superkey in the nds slot well like the MML works well with the GBAMP would the superkey work well with it aswell?

#96038 - smashing_tompkins - Mon Jul 31, 2006 10:49 pm

i don't know i don't have a superkey and i couldn't get the GBA MP to work with the MML

#96039 - dualscreenman - Mon Jul 31, 2006 11:16 pm

Well it's not the MML's fault. Try putting something else on there under the name of _BOOT_MP.NDS and see what happens.

it won't boot with anything. the gba MP won't work at all. Its not the MML fault, i believe the replacement firmware wrecked my gba MP, but im not an expert.

Put update.e19 on your card and turn your NDS on without anyyhing in your ds slot. It should ask if you want to update your card. That will reinstall your GBAMP firmware. Reset and install Chism's firmware. you should be in business then.

try putting the e19 patch on the gbamp, I had a similar proble withmine once. nothing happend when i tried to boot up, but it still recognised the patch and ran it anyway (from gba mode).
