Update:
i turned it off this morning regardless i thought if it hadnt finished in that many hours it wouldnt
i actually booted up but im not sure of its version is there any way i can check
and should i update or attempt again?

Update2: i accidentally hit start for the updater in gba mode and was successful updating

For future reference though, if you go to setup and press select you can pick "update info" from the list of helpfiles that pop up.

That way you can check what's currently on your M3.
