DS Flash Equipment > Flashing Old DS with WIFIME & Supercard

#119687 - jdn1 - Sun Feb 25, 2007 8:18 am

Hi i have an old DS with the right firmware to run wifime. I have noticed it is possible to flash the firmware with flashme via wifime.

The only Flashcart i have is a mini supercard sd.

Is it possible to somehow get the flashme to boot from the GBA slot via the wifime pass me ?

I have been reading all forums and tried to get it to go but i am still having trouble...
The supercard has the latest firware on it. Does the flashme have to be in a specific format ?

When i run the passme via the wifime, (which is some sort of hacked save file from the mario game?) it shows the loading mario screen and then says failed after 15 seconds.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Cheers

If you get the Mario loading screen, your DS isn't old enough for WifiMe.

Bugger.

WiFiMe works only on Nintendo DS systems built before late summer 2005.

What you need to boot your SuperCard in DS mode is NoPass. Depending on where you live, some stores may carry a NoPass plus a CF adapter by the name of "MAX Media Dock".

Such as [a major retail chain in the United States -- MOD], who carries it for $40.

[A major retail chain in the United States -- MOD] carries it. However, it is $39.99 above your desired price range.

[Retailer is not listed in Retailer Feedback. -- MOD]

Is it possible that his DS does work with wifime, but hes using an old version of wifime?

The Action Replay DS can also function as a NoPass and can be found at several major retailers for about $25.

"Old wifime"? I wasn't aware that wifime had changed.

"Old WMB"? Failure to adapt to new MAC prefixes would give a communication error on the PC, not a successful execution of SM64DS's loader.

That, and if your DS has a MAC address the old WMB doesn't recognize, it's too new for WifiMe anyway.

Ah, I see, yes I was referring to a new WMB application.

Max Media Dock + Max Media Player is $20 (before postage) from codejunkies store. I prefer Superkey. My MMP is tight in the DS slot (doesn't eject as easily as Superkey) and it displays an annoying splash screen. It doesn't really matter if you are just going to flash your DS.
