well i read a thing tht says for dslinux to work tht it has to be the only file on my card. Is that true? please help

no it's not the only file on your card. it can cooperate with many other .nds files. you onlx have to exctract a whole directory on your card and start dslinux.

That was a bit of a confusing answer Diddl. If you are reporting problems it's normally good to say what hardware you have.
If you have the MMD you can use the slot-1 version of DSLinux (I think, I haven't got a MMD so I can't test).

You didn't need to delete anything off your card. As stated before DSLinux doesn't need the card to itself.
And please take the time to type properly. Maybe you should be using the DSLinux forums rather than here for support.

You probably need to rename dslinux.nds to bootme.nds. Use the WMB version of dslinux instead of the GBAMP version.

Has anyone managed to get DSLinux running lately on either A Max Media Dock or Max Media Drive? If so, can they report back which versions worked for them?

Time to learn how to use google.
Here's the result of a quick lookie.

You need the right network card, special drivers and an install of Linux (I think it'll work via VMWare). You then send the nds to your DS via the "DS download play" option of your DS' firmware.

heck no im not going to go buy something like that just for a dslinux that doesnt even have retawq isnt there any other way i can get any version of dslinux to work

The WMB version should also boot normally regardless, so you don't need the wireless card. Have you tried simply placing the WMB version on your card and launching it? Have you tried renaming it to bootme.nds? Have you tried changing the clock settings to either 12:00 or 00:00 (not sure which one)?

I tested "dslinux.nds (for WMB, iDeaS)" on MMD and it just gives black screens when named bootme.nds. Changing the DS clock to 00:00 doesn't help. Even if it did work, you wouldn't be able to access the file system and there would be very limited RAM.

No. I was testing MMD. I never said for anyone to use wireless, I just meant to launch the dslinux.nds that is designed to run entirely from RAM. It doesn't work on MMD though. There must be some bug with their launcher.
