ok i'm going to buy some homebrew equiptment today.
my line up:
R4DS MicroSD English
EZ Flash 4 Lite Deluxe MicroSD
Toshiba MicroSD Memory 512MB
now is this enough for me to write ds and gba advanced games to my ds?

Why not just get an EZ flash 5? That way you wouldn't have to get a separate slot 1 and slot 2 package...

i would but i have heard bad things about ez flash 5 compared to the r4 plus the r4 works as writer too and i've heard it is easier to get code in and out of it
edit:
but they will be compatiable togethor right?

should be, the r4 has the ability to boot ds and gba from slot-2.

the main problem with the ez5 is that it used to require every homebrew app to have PASS as its game code. there's a patcher for this so it's not a huge deal, and it's not required in the latest firmware anyway. i haven't had any problem with my ez5, aside from the fact that my slot 2 part of it didn't havea abttery and couldn't save, but that seemed like a pretty random screw-up and it's getting replaced now.

If you want to use R4 and EZ4 at the same time, then you need two memory cards.
