DS Flash Equipment > Supercard and Superkey use

#127317 - madato - Tue May 01, 2007 5:50 pm

I have a supercard microsd rumble and a superkey. Got it from kickgaming. I was wondering if I need the superkey in at all times or just the first time (if it works like a flasher)?

Would I be able to run homebrow stuff off it with just the supercard?

You need the supercard inserted while booting to get into the supercard menu. So you need it everytime you boot. However, you can also flash your ds firmware with FlashMe. With FlashMe you can boot to the supercard menu without the need of superkey. I have done this myself.

Insert SuperKey only: You probably get a white screen.

Insert SuperCard only: SuperCard menu appears in Game Boy Advance mode. You can run .gba files. (EDIT: Not with rumble)

Insert SuperCard + SuperKey: SuperCard menu appears in DS mode, with menu on top screen and logo on touch screen. You can run sc.nds files.

No gba ram in rumble.

And no, the superkey has to be used every time. It doesn't flash your firmware. It can, however, let you run the flashme.nds off of your supercard so that you can flash your firmware.

If your lucky.. I can't say for sure, but I think all of the rumble series are complete crap.. I know the SuperCard Lite Rumble is.

Not if you put moonshell 1.6 and DS channels on, then you can launch basically any NDS that the GBAMP can, aslong as the homebrew either doesn't use fat at all, or its DLDI compatable. (and yes, DLDI does work on it fine)

launch moonshell 1st, then DS channels, then anything

Just the fact that you have to say that.. confirms the product is complete crap. It's like saying:

No.. it works great. You just have to launch the built in loader, then launch a specific version of moonshell (I couldn't get moonshell to work at all), then stand on one foot and hop in circles.. then launch DS channels while whistling dixie.. then, If you hopped in the right direction, it will launch anything..

OR

Buy pretty much any other product, put DLDI patched .nds file on media and launch..
