DS Flash Equipment > No longer wanted: Someone with an M3 Simply and other stuff

#128550 - chishm - Sat May 12, 2007 4:50 pm

I'm looking for someone that has some specific flash cards to help with a small project I'm working on.

You'll need all of the following:
  • M3 Simply
  • GBA Movie Player Compact Flash
  • NOR based GBA flash cartridge (eg, Flash2Advance, XG2Turbo)
  • Compact Flash card that you don't mind having to reformat
  • The skills to copy raw sectors from the CF card to a file

I'm wanting to decrypt the M3 menu file. I have already done this for the R4 DS, but I don't have an M3 to test with.

EDIT: I worked around it, so I don't need to use an M3 Simply anymore.

I think I meet all the requirements.. :)

- M3 Simply - Check
- GBA MP (CF) - Check
- NOR based GBA flash cart - EZF Advance III (256Mb)
- Compact Flash card that you don't mind having to reformat - Check
- The skills to copy raw sectors from the CF card to a file - I'm sure I can figure it out :)

Why both GBAMP CF (with your NDSMP) and a NOR card?

Does that mean there will soon bee a replacement for the R4's dull menu, or even auto boot some homebrew?

There already is an autoboot. Just put the file on the root and name it default.nds :)

It would be better to modify the firmware for slot2 M3 devices. M3 Simply (slot1) already has autoboot.

It turns out that I didn't need the M3 Simply after all. I forgot that the R4 uses the exact same encryption (it was late, I was tired). Long story short, I just used my R4 instead.

I don't count it a autoboot as the menuloads up first then launches the .nds, rather than only the .nds loading. It looks quite crap seeing a menu pop up then fade out just before your game loads.
