DS Flash Equipment > Cart Loaded Virus Warning

#129240 - Tainek - Sun May 20, 2007 11:51 pm

Hey everybody.

i bought a flashcard from [URL removed by MOD - read the rules]

the flashcard in question is the 16Gb firelinker (Aka Express Card)

i was backing up a copy of the card contents to prepare for a firmware upgrade, when AVG noticed somthing very interesting...

the DSOrganise folder is infested with a virus! (42 Times!)

My system is definatly clean, so it is not from my computer

heres an amusing image: [Images not permitted - Click here to view it]

any other owners here who can help me find out if this affects all of them, or just from this source?

I don't know if that virus is actually in the file or if the virus checking software is making some mistakes. Anyway, I read it and I think it doesn't matter anyways if you aren't opening the files listed there with MSIE, but maybe you should download the upgrade to MSIE anyways (if you want to). And, I do see the file "readme.eml" that it mentions, so maybe it is in there, I don't know. Did DSOrganise come with the flashcard?

Some anti-virus programs with defective definitions confuse all DS homebrew with the r0mloader/taihen trojan.

But it was detecting a worm in the .html files.

It's not unheard of that pre-installed things come pre-infected to...

I'd just format the firelinker and re-install DSO et al...

Welp.. I have an N-Card sitting right here.. I'd love to get a virus warning.. cept I think mine is broke because it displays the programming screen, but my computer(s) (3 that I have tried it on) don't find the USB device.. :/
