Hello all, I'm new here, and posting about the Windows based WMB application. How, I already know that I can't use WifiMe with my DSL, but I want to try the whole thing out for geek points. I know my card is "on the list" (it's actually a ralink OEM, I was rather happy to hear about this project that just happened to use my specific card), but it won't upload to the DS. So, I told the program to output a pcap file and used ethereal. Lo and behold, my DSL has a different MAC address than is listed at http://dsdev.bigredpimp.com/ for the Lite. Mines is 00:17:ab:ab:c5:17. Now, I'm sure this program hasn't seen much development since, oh, last year, but is it possible to get this range recognized? I would do it myself if I had access to the source code, but I don't.

Not unless you got the source code, I'd imagine. Seems like Nintendo came out with some new DSlites.

But wasn't WMB recompiled to fix this issue a while ago? I seem to remember that a new build was made that included the new Lite MAC address. Then again, I don't use the program at all, so I may have been hallucinating or something.

Thanks for maintaining this, I was worried you'd quit forever. It sure beats hex-editing the 1.5 version.

Thanks! I can finally also get back to using one executable instead of separated hex-edited versions. :)

I just replaced my DS Lite with a shiny new black one, and I think it may have an unsupported MAC address. I've already put FlashMe v8 on it, so I don't believe it's an issue running homebrew (also, I'm testing with a Polaris E3 demo).
From the capture file, it appears that my new (new as of 07/03) DS Lite's MAC address is 00:1b:7a:6d:a8:ae. Has anyone else gotten a DS Lite with a new MAC addy in this range? Would it be possible to add support to WMB to allow this? I'm not sure who maintains this application, but it's my primary method of quickly deploying apps I'm working on to my DS. :-(
In the meantime, I'll search the forums and figure out how people are hex editing WMB to allow this.
Thanks!

I wanted to follow up and confirm that what I posted is indeed my DS Lite's MAC address, and that performing the aforementioned hex edit listed here (substituting 0017AB for 001B7A, of course) got me up and running.
Thanks!

The guy show posted the new version up there, [FireFly], maintains it. You might try to PM him, or visit his site, which I think is this one: www.aaronrogers.com/nintendods

Whoops... Yeah I wasn't sure if FireFly == Aaron Rogers, thanks.
