I read the tutorials, but I'm not very familiar with the terms and got confused, so can someone please give me the answer of the following question?
Can any kind of homebrew (SNESDS in this case) be run without a GBA flash cart? Or without any extra hardware? All I have is an ActionReplay MAXDUO and a few games, does this enable me to run homebrew?
Thanks in advance, and sorry if this has been asked before.
EDIT: I have a fat DS with serial starting with XXX11
EDIT 2: If I should buy aditional hardware, what do you recommend I buy?

No, you are not able to use homebrew at the moment.
I would recommend an R4DS, as it is easy to use, affordable, and the latest firmware has automatic DLDI patching.

Action Replay Max updated firmware will work as your nopass. You can download the updater from the Action Replay client.

wifime + oldest ds requires the purchase of 1. a compatible PCI or PC Card wireless adapter and 2. a SLOT-2 card.
No, AR MAX Duo won't work; that just lets you back up saves. You'll need the R4, or if you wait a while, someone might hack the Games 'n Music DS (in stores next to the newer Action Replay DS).

The cheapest way nowadays that I know of is buy a chinese R4 (can be hacked to show up as english) for $25, then get a small microSD card for $10 or less. That's all you'll need to run pretty much all homebrew.

...Chinese R4? Are they cheaper or something? What about the cost to import it from, oh I dunno, China??
And even if he had a ralink wifi NIC a nopass wouldn't do any good, unless someone thought of some clever way to send wifime along with a homebrew program.

Yes...they are priced lower since the average Chinese person has much less disposable income than the average American/European.

Many of the online flashcart shops are already shipping from China anyway.

so one cannot download some rom directly, but only redirect execution to slot2?

You can download once you have FlashMe installed.
