DS Flash Equipment > Which apps do I need to run Crayon Physics on an R4?

Ok, quick run down.
Buying my friends R4, the apps that come on the supplied disc are in Chinese, so I'd like to know which applications I'll need to put on my SD card to use Crayon Physics and other Homebrew games.

If you mean Pocket Physics then you will need Pocket Physics.

Yeah, thats the one.
Does a menu or something come up will all the files when you boot the cart up? Or do you need something like MoonShell?

To run a homebrew .nds file, you need two files on a FAT or FAT32 formatted microSD card:
  • the R4 firmware (which comes on the CD or can be downloaded from the R4 manufacturer site)
  • the .nds file

R4 main menu has three buttons. From left to right:
  • Open a menu listing all folders and .nds files on the microSD card
  • Start MoonShell
  • Boot SLOT-2

To start a .nds file, you power on the DS, touch the left button (or press A), and navigate to the .nds file. Then you can run your Colors!, your Pocket Physics, your Setsuzoku no Puzzle, your DSOrganize birthday edition, or your Lockjaw Tetromino Game.

But there is a small defect in the R4's built-in DLDI file that affects some programs. So you may have to patch susceptible .nds files with the improved DLDI file and use DLDI No Auto Patch to hide the DLDI section from the R4's auto-patcher.
