I started reverse engineering some of the code to see how it unlocks some address signals :)
I will then make a flashing tool and after that I'll try to make an update file so ppl don't need to have an expensive flashcard anymore :)
Some funny text from the dump: "Update Failed! This Card is a FAKE!! System Crash!!!" :)

Woohoo!
PM me if you need any suckers/testers to risk trashing their Movie Player firmware in the pursuit of knowledge.

rofl
I had this line several times already....don't know exactly why though but I guess it had something to do with the CF-card.
I really appreciate your work. Can't wait for it.
Once you have a first built posted, would you mind when I mention it at the "Lik Sang GBA Movie Player"-forum? I would just make a thread linking to this one......knowing the guys over there ,i can say they will go nuts of happyness. ^_^
10x again for your work

If you can work out how to use repair.nes over a multiboot cable (I have an xboo cable) I would be more than willing to flash any tests you need done to my GBAMP. Using repair.nes just means I can recover if it screws up.

Just a little update... I'm able to read out the flash chip and get its device ID. So, next step will be a flashing tool or something.

yeah :d

Okay mabey this wasn't answered (I didn't read through all the posts...) but where do you get repair.nes? I was told that it was built in to the driver (should just show up in the list) but it dosn't so I'm assuming there's a download link i'm missing somewhere? (I have update .e18 crystal engine)... Anyway i know this is kind of off topic and stupid but...
EDIT: Oh wait, that was the last post! Okay i read them all! ;)

#46078 - Extreme Coder - Sun Jun 19, 2005 5:13 pm
Get this working, and all flashcarts will go down!:P

@darkfader
Do you have a supercard to mess about with.
Aparently the GBAMP is a ripoff of the SC
Some guy broke apart his SC and it has 3 chips rather than the 2 on the GBAMP. Might mean there is more potential for stuff and things
I was hoping someone would start hacking these CF things as SC wont currently work with passme or wifime :(

AFAIK, its the other way round. GBAMP came out before the SC.
And on a side note, Will a GBAMPv2 be needed for your custom code Darkfader? Or can I just keep my GBAMPv1 and order a passME?
Thanks either way! Buying a GBAMPv2 beats the hell out of paying a load for a flashcart.

Yeah, that's what I learned as well.. The SC only has the additional "ram" to allow it to load GBA games over 256k and play them, which is the limitation of the GBAMP.

I've tested SMT DS ROM Dumper 1.0 with GBA MP v1, and it worked just fine. Two differences between these two versions are requirement of inserted GBA cart in v1(in case of DS it isn't needed) and different sizes of GBAMPs, nothing more. So I think Darkfader's code wil run ok on v1.

How different is the GBAMP from the SC?
If its just the extra ram chip then shouldnt darkfaders thingy work on the SC too?
*crosses fingers*

Is this project still alive? Have I been watching the wrong thread?
#47766 - chishm - Wed Jul 13, 2005 4:59 am
Yes, it is still alive, and yes you have been watching the wrong thread. Check the normal Hardware forums (not the DS one) for more info.
