Scroll down. This page still seems to be up.

It says the site is closed...maybe because of all the stuff sourrounding demos? Who knows...it's too bad though, the WiFi drivers and everything makes it so much quicker to test out some homebrew.

That's just a picture. Without at least an 'alt' attribute on the 'img' element, I don't put much faith in any implication that the WiFiMe project is closed for good. Specifically, right below the image is a link to "Download". The site isn't closed for real until either 1. the downloads are removed or 2. the downloads aren't updated in months or 3. some explanation of the image is added.

Hopefully it isn't permanently. It worries me a bit though that it would say that on the front page though, and it's not April, so... then again, as far as I know people are working on a Linux WMB app, and Firefly is among them, so that's a good sign.

Don't worry. See how far Stephen has come:

Um, that has nothing to do with wifime...

If we get the DS Wi-Fi figured out, then we can use the DS as a server for WMB demos or for WiFiMe.

Yeah, but wouldn't that still require some means of getting the code TO the DS in the first place? I mean, yeah it would help the vampire effect a bit, but anyone who has the means of loading a Wifime server on their DS could just SHARE said means and load Flashme on the other.
Demo server is still a good idea, but none of it makes the passthrough methods any easier.

I was thinking make a WMB server that can send the unmodified SM64DS stub, and then emulate the SM64DS server but send FlashMe instead of the SM64DS client code. Keyword: ItsaMe.

How long did you spend coming up with that name :p But wouldn't you need to dig through the SM64 WMB code quite a bit to implement it? Sounds like a pain in the neck.
Then again, they couldn't block it without destroying compatability with the game. That'd be funny.
Edit: You've mentioned this before, haven't you? I'm gonna go read up on your old posts on it.

But at least making sense of a disassembly of SM64 WMB code is potentially doable now that the DS Wi-Fi registers are documented. The only potentially critical roadblock is if there's yet another digital signature on the client code.

The same way that Microsoft couldn't block the MechAssault exploit.

HyperDS also has the closed sign. Both HyperDS and Firefly's site are hosted on users.belgacom.net, so maybe they have something to do with it.
